Understand BCM Principles and Good Practice

This 5 day training was developed by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI), renowned worldwide for their expertise in BCM, and certified by the Quebec Public Security Ministry. The goal of the training is to get acquainted with the BCM Lifecycle aligned on the BS25999 standard and to prepare you for the BCI Certification Examination. You will be entitled to one of BCI membership grades upon successfully passing the exam. The course in itself gives you the BCI “Affiliate” status for one year free of charge.

The following modules will be presented, discussed and exercised:

    Module 1: Policy, Culture and Programme Management
    Module 2: Understanding the Organisation
    Module 3: Determining BCM Strategies
    Module 4: Developing & Implementing a BCM Response
    Module 5: Exercising, Maintenance and Review

In addition to receiving the training material in English, you will receive the French equivalent of each slide in your participant binder. This will ease your work in a bilingual environment.

BCI Certificate Examination (Optional)

The 2 hour BCI Certificate examination is made up of 120 multiple choice questions. The examination takes place on training site, generally on the Friday afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The examination fee of 500$ US can be paid at the same time as the training fees based on the foreign exchange rate at the time of registration. It is also possible to write the examination at a later date on computer (according to provider's availability). At this time, a coupon is given to you. The decision to sit the examination during the course must be taken at time of registration.

Target Audience

Business Continuity Managers, those appointed to business continuity posts who do not have a business continuity background and those looking to progress through the BCI grades and pass the BCI Certificate exam.

Training Schedule

• Monday to Thursday: from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• Friday: from 8:30 AM to 1:00PM (exam from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
