What you will learn in the BCI - Introduction to Operational Resilience Course
The BCI Introduction to Operational Resilience course is 1-day course that has been designed to introduce the essential components of operational resilience and to equip students with knowledge and skills that can be applied in their own organization.
It focuses on practical, adaptable strategies and on best practices. Examples, drawing on the actual experiences of different organizations, are included to illustrate points and to provide the focus of discussion.
The aims of the course are to:
- Develop an understanding of the scope and importance of operational resilience
- Explain and demonstrate the application of the pillars that underpin resilience within organizations
- Explore strategies and best practices for incorporating operational resilience into organizational plans, procedures, and culture
- Review the requirements for effective response and recovery plans
- Identify the key roles of governance and resilience culture in enabling effective resilience plans and processes
The course is structured to deliver these aims, moving through definitions of operational resilience, explanation of the pillars of resilience, assessment of the factors necessary to implement and embed operational resilience into the fabric of an organization, and the importance of the organization’s internal environment.
Throughout the course, students are encouraged to explore the issues and options possible in different contexts and to apply these to their own situation.
