By joining our team, you will play a key role in the development of our product and in the quality of the solutions delivered to our customers. You will transform business needs into clear functional requirements in order to develop our solutions and deliver consistent, high-performance, and useful features.

Job description

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Governance and Business Intelligence, you will act as an intermediary between the business teams (internal and external clients) and the technical application teams (development, UX/UI design, quality assurance), as well as the business intelligence teams (BI architecture, database administration, BI analysis). You will be responsible for producing functional analysis files for technical teams and ensuring that the solutions delivered meet defined business requirements.

You will leverage a combination of business, analytical, and technical skills, as well as a strong ability to communicate, simplify information, and solve complex problems in both French and English.

Tasks

The tasks to be performed are varied and may include the following:

Analysis and translation of business requirements:

  • Organize workshops, interviews, or surveys to gather the needs of internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze and document business application, data, and analytical needs
  • Transform needs into precise functional specifications
  • Develop use cases, business rules, flowcharts, and functional mockups
  • Present proposed solutions to stakeholders
  • Participate in planning and writing user stories with acceptance criteria

Functional validation and quality assurance:

  • Design and document test plans and scenarios
  • Prepare the data needed for functional testing
  • Contribute to acceptance testing and document the results
  • Verify data quality, integrity, and consistency
  • Diagnose and resolve anomalies in collaboration with technical teams

Application evolution and continuous improvement:

  • Ensure traceability of requirements and compliance with quality standards
  • Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, or UX improvement
  • Identify and track the correction of functional inconsistencies
  • Assess functional risks and propose mitigation measures
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation (guides, knowledge base, help videos)

Internal support and collaboration:

  • Contribute to the creation of templates and BI reports
  • Participate in the management of the data catalog and dictionary
  • Train and support end users
  • Provide level 3 support to N1 and N2 technicians
  • Participate in the Product Committee
  • Stay informed of best practices through conferences and professional committees

Education/Skills

  • University degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
  • 10 years of IT experience, including 5 years as a functional analyst. An equivalent combination totaling 10 years of experience in business analysis, BI analysis, IT analysis, and/or organic analysis will also be considered.
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices for writing functional analysis reports.
  • Solid experience in modular system breakdown and functional requirements writing.
  • Very good understanding of testing strategies (scenarios and acceptance criteria).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in UML modeling.
  • Good command of relational data modeling (RDM).
  • Good command of SQL databases.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.

The following skills are a plus:

  • Experience in several sectors: finance, healthcare, insurance, public services, energy, manufacturing, transportation, travel, etc.
  • Knowledge of business continuity (CBCI/MBCI/ISO 22301) and risk management (ISO 31000).
  • Knowledge of ArchiMate modeling
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence tools
  • Familiarity with BI tools and their respective environments (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, QLink, etc.)

Conditions:

• Permanent, full-time position – 37.5 hours per week
• Salary range between $83,000 and $100,000, based on experience
• May be required to work outside regular business hours when necessary
